Hey guys! I’m new to SL. My current favorite hobbies are flying and driving around the mainland. I’m looking for friends that like to travel as well and maybe role play.

You could join the Drivers of SL group,

Definitely start with the Drivers Of SL Group.  They organize weekly HUD-based grid drives around mainland, held at Saturday midday (SLT), then repeating it at 11.59pm.

You can do the drive with the group at the aforementioned times, or at any time that suits you.  Previous drive HUDS are stored at the GTFO / Drivers HQ in northern Satori here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Bruissac/99/66/36

Normally, each drive offers a completion reward donated by that weeks sponsor - usually a vehicle of some kind.  The drives are usually done in multiple stages, and will often involve driving, flying, and boating.  A few times a year the group organises weekend long "camping drives" - with a road camp, boat camp, and space camp being the usual ones.

A travel game for roads, ocean, and air is Get The Freight Out (GTFO).

It can solo or group play depending on what the game-group is up to.

Shergood Aviation has the most realistic helicopter simulations in SL, IMO. That group of people are active fliers all over SL.
