I have tried searching, to no avail.

I have a complex build with bounding boxes.

Is there a way (using keys/keyboard) to select a child prim, ie cycle through the child prims in order until i get to the one i wish to edit.

for PC - Edit / Build menu

select the object

check Edit Selected / Edit linked parts or whatever your viewer calls it

click one prim - starting with root is useful

then hold the CTRL key and click the arrow forward > or arrow backward < key to cycle through the prims

I have Firestorm

I select a link set

Set to "Edit linked"

Click on a prim

Hold control key down

When i use the arrow keys, my AV just moves in the direction of arrow keys. the CTL key does bring up the edit rotation menu.

Thank you!

I totally ignored that it's actually the , and . (comma and fullstop) I press - they have the arrow as the Upper Case thingie on those keys -, since I don't need to hold down the SHIFT key in my viewer to cycle through the child prims. Sorry about that!

Ctrl+. Select Linked Parts > Select Next Part
Ctrl+, Select Linked Parts > Select Previous Part
Ctrl+Shift ⇧+. Select Linked Parts > Include Next Part
Ctrl+Shift ⇧+, Select Linked Parts > Include Previous Part

Furthermore, once you have an object selected, if you check "Select Face", these hotkeys then cycle through the faces within that object.
