Forums work a bit different than Twitter and Instagram.  In forums, you just keep adding new posts to existing threads, rather than starting a new thread every time you want to add something.

So... in this sub-forum "Your Avatar", instead of clicking "New Topic" at the top, click on an existing thread that has a title that fits what you want to say -- Like the "How does your avatar look today" thread that someone put into your other thread:  https://community.secondlife.com/forums/topic/405992-how-does-your-avatar-look-today

 

So, pull up an existing thread -- from any of the sub-forums: https://community.secondlife.com/forums/ -- then in the upper right above the existing comments, instead of clicking on 'Start new topic', click on "Reply to this topic". 

 

Then type whatever you wish, pasting in pictures if you want.
