I can't teleport out of the welcome center

When I first opened a account I can't teleport to anywhere. I clicked on the destinations and nothing showed. My friend sent me a teleport  and I click teleport but it won't let me.

It sounds like you are logged in with the Basic mode on your viewer.  It's a stripped down version of the viewer, designed to give new residents a very simple introduction to SL for their first hour or two in world. Log out again now.  When you log back in, select the Advanced option on the login screen.   You will have all of the normal functions of SL, including teleport ability.  Welcome to Second Life!

If what Rolig suggested do not work - do you get any (error) messages when you try to teleport?
