How do I play two or more avatars at the same time? Do I need to open separate windows to play each avatar? How does this work in SL?

yes, you will need to launch one viewer for each avatar you want to log in. launch as many as your hw can support, but be prepared for low fps. sl demands a lot from your machine. turn down your graphics and draw distance and stuff to make it a little easier.

You can have two avatars in at the same time. Each in its own instance of the viewer. Unless you have some serious hardware, I wouldn't recommend it. Far better to log the avatars in on separate computers if that is possible. This should be no problems at all.

Most viewers are not set by default for you to run more than account at the same time. If you are on one that says SL is already running when your try to open another window, you can fix that by right-clicking the desktop icon and going to properties. Then type --multiple at the end of the target location.
