I also think that you should be sure that the epilepsy foundation that you are hoping to raise money for knows that you are doing it. It could be terribly embarrassing for a charitable foundation to find out that someone had been collecting money on their behalf and had somehow misrepresented them unknowingly. Organizations usually have to obey faily strict rules about how and where they solicit, and have to meet governmental reporting requirements to keep their legal status clean. To protect yourself and the organization that you feel strongly about, keep them informed from the beginning and get their advice about how you can work together.
