My avatar is a cloud after updating. Tried to uncloud the avatar nothing is working

Try doing an avatar reset/rebake of yourself.

Go to: Avatar - Avatar Health - Force Appearance (Rebake) and if that doesn't work try using the Reset Default Avatar for whatever gender you're using as your base.

That usually fixes it.

Try changing shapes. You can change back right away.

there are 4 things you have to have,

Shape, Skin, eyebrow shape, and eyes, they are listed at the bottom of the list of what you are wearing, if any are missing you will be a cloud, if they are missing you can simply add the missing ones and you pop into view.

What you are experiencing is called Bake Fail. The possible causes are lag or a broken essential part of the avatar. BiliEyelash lists the essential parts.

If the viewer does not have the essential parts of the avatar downloaded then you see a particle cloud because the avatar cannot be rendered. If the problem is network lag then the problem will last 5 to 10 minutes. If the problem is lag on the SL side it may take longer. To decide if this is the problem teleport to a different region. You can also look at the Viewer Stats (Ctrl-Shift-1 - a toggle). If Server FPS is low or Time Dilation is less than 1 then it may be the SL side that is the problem. Jumping to another region may solve the problem.

Delivery of assets to your viewer may be a problem. SL uses a Content Delivery Network (CDN) to move stuff to your viewer. So a problem or delay may happen there. I just consider that part of the network lag. There is little if anything we can do about that... other than wait it out.

The basic set of trouble shooting steps is to change your avatar to the Character Test avatar (Ruth/Roth). Press Developer (Top menu - press Ctrl-Alt-Q if you do not see this in your top menu). Then Avatar->Character Tests->Test [Male/Female]. This will revert your avatar to the test avatar. If this version does not render, the problem is likely the network of SL side of things. Check the grid status page for the next couple of hours to see if the Lindens say something.

If the test avatar renders, change back your avatar and clothes one item at a time. This will show you if you have a broken item that is stopping your avatar from rendering.
