GManB
Is it possible to run an animated GIF, Gyazo variety, in a loop as a texture on an object? Thanks, G
Ruthven Ravenhurst
Yes, sort of. You'll need to bring the gif into a photo editing software and break up the layers into a grid, and turn it into a flat texture used with llTextureAnim. There may be some online generators that can do that for you.

VirtualKitten
not by simply uploading the gif and dropping it onto a face . You will need the frames from the gif and construct a matrix of them of known size this can be done in a paint program like Gimp easily . You then need a script to play this on a face . The size of your image has a dramatic affect on performance. You can also use this program https://www.outworldz.com/Secondlife/Posts/Gif/Create-Gif-in-Second-Life.htm but you will still need a script that uses http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlSetTextureAnim
Nick0678
Use this website, it will do what you want and provide you the script as well. https://www.mrmonke.net/anigifTolsl

Thanks, G Take a look at the wiki for llSetLinkMedia(); Media on a prim will let you view (almost) anything on a prim face that you can view on a web page. The problem is, many users may have media turned off in their viewers. You can put a placeholder image on the prim face that will show only if they have media on a prim turned off, and it can show them how to turn it back on. If I recall right, the checkbox next to the media slider in the Sounds preference panel has to be turned on. I can't recall for sure if any other options have to be on.
