Check that your script isn't passing any bad characters to llHTTPRequest.

That error is generated before the HTTP-out happens, and indicates that the URL contains a bad character (usually, because the URL wasn't escaped beforehand).

As it turn out ...

"http://gridurl.appspot.com/random" appears to be permanently down.
