Alligning the walls of a building

Hello,

When I try to allign my building's walls, the joining parts seems bad. The joining parts seem like winking when join too much, or a line seems when it becomes discrete. What's the tip to make them smooth?

I use maths, if wall A is 0.5 metre thick on the x axis and wall B is 10 metres in length on the x axis then I'd do:

Second Wallpos = (Wall A x + Wall B x) / 2 which in this case equals 5.25

Then I'd get the x position of Wall A and position Wall B at Wall A's position plus or minus Second Wallpos (depending upon which side of Wall A, Wall B sits).

You can also use the grid tool in edit and "snap to grid".

You will love it. I have my grid units set to 0.125 and its really handy for stretching prims as well as moving them.

some TPV's also have an "Align" mode/tool that lets you push pieces together or move the to the same edge a lot like youd do with solid blocks, making flat joins seamless.

Hey Peewee what must be the snap grid unit numbers? The standart isfirst 0.500 and 2nd one 12.00. what do you prefer, which is best?

first number is the distance between snap points... so at 0.5, the prim will jump 0.5m when you drag it outside of the ruler.

the second number is the length of the ruler in meters

Builders Brewery do some very good classes -- about an hour, in text -- on how to use Snap To Grid.   I went to one the other day, to remind myself how to do it, and was very impressed.

I find it a lot easier to use than the TPV align tool Void mentions.

You should hire some good builders to align your walls because it is risky to do it by yourself. Otherwise paper the wall it looks pretty and easy way.
