LeeTheMermaid
Hi everyone! I'm new to SL. I've been creating on IMVU for 13 years so I'm not new to meshing. I've exported my first mesh from Maya, I've attached the image. I was hoping someone could tell me what I've done wrong exactly, I'm at a loss. I'm used to exporting the skin of the entire torso, however I seem to have managed to export the skin under my mesh, but the skin at the waist is missing. How does this work? Any tips well be so welcome!
Janet Voxel
What exactly are you exporting? Is it the shirt? A body? Hard to tell.... SL meshing and IMVU are a little different.
LeeTheMermaid
Oh it's the sweater. I made it on whatever body SL provided.
Janet Voxel
It looks like your body is alpha’d to me. Sooo just unalpha your torso? I’d think if you exported the whole torso there’d be a white torso visible too. Did you use avastar to export? If you take the top off is your torso visible? There are two main reasons for games to do so, but neither apply to SL. You just need the sweater. One of the reasons is to define an alpha cut by providing a substitute geometry for the body part (i don't know if that's applicable to IMVU though), while in SL the body is always the same and alpha is achieved by using a dedicated clothing asset. In your inventory, type "worn" in search and see if you have any alpha on you, and in such case take it off.
