With the Advent of Stadia by Google, is there any way that Linden Labs may be interested in pushing Second Life to Google's services?

At this time, Stadia supports Havok, the same physics engine Second Life runs on. Of course, transferring Second Life to Stadia would probably be pricy for Linden Labs, but it would reap a LOT of benefits.

Examples of this would be a push to the forefront of technology for Virtual Worlds, and truely make Second Life stand out again, drawing in new players. Additionally, more players means more income, and the push to Google's servers means there could possibly be lower cost for land in SL, driving up industry and development again.

Of course, all of this is theoretical, but it would be nice to push for some new experiences and development on SL to go beyond what it currently is.

SL is already in the process of migrating to Amazon's Cloud Service.

This question didn't get a relevant answer (and this isn't an answer, either, just a clarification of why the above also isn't an answer):

Stadia is a cloud gaming (streaming) service. SL has, to my knowledge, not stated any plans to use AWS to offer such a service. OnLive SLGo, before it went away, was another example of a streaming service which enabled many more users to experience SL at ultra graphics, by doing all of that heavy lifting on the server side and then streaming the result to the user. I used it on older hardware that otherwise couldn't have plausibly run a local viewer. It was a fantastic option while it lasted.

To date, LL has not mentioned any plans to do something like this in-house, as far as I have seen, and I've also been curious about this. So the OP's question is valid (and unanswered).

Running an SL on stadia will not magically change what SL is or the code that runs. All that will happen is what's used to run locally on your PC will be run on a far away server someplace and streamed to you.

Stadia is a remote rendering and streaming service. Nothing more. There would be no benefits.

All of SL's designed in weaknesses will remain. Stadia will not suddenly allow hundreds of avatars on one region and all rendered on your screen, or better physics, or anything else.

LL have tried this before and while it was useful for a few, the costs involved kept it niche. Due to the company involved not having google's bottomless money pit, they decided to invite Sony over and sold them everything.
