Is there an unexpected connection of block list and IMs ?

I just found an unexpected connection of block list and IMs. I was experiencing problems with my IMs not delivered in time for ages now. OK, we all do but then something weird happend: I just added a person to my blocklist and poof all the not delivered items and messages popped up at once...

Is this normal and expected behaviour? Any explanations from the code slingers?

I will, next time I miss the midnight mania deliveries I will just block/unblock my alt and see if that forces IM delivery
