Do you get this error when you go to pay for something?  If so, consider these two things.

  1. Your payment method (your credit card) may have expired.  If so, update it.  You may be using a debit card.  Linden Lab no longer accepts these for payment.  Use a major credit card, or a verified PayPal or Skrill account.
  2. If you are trying to buy an item with your credit card...don't.  When you do this, LL will use your card to purchase the required amount of $L, PLUS add a $0.99 transaction fee.  Instead, buy a quantity of $L on the LindEx, enough to cover your expenses for a while.  You will still get hit with the transaction fee, but it will be a smaller percentage of the purchase.  Example:  I buy $L300L to pay for a dress on the Marketplace.  My total charge is $1.20 + 0.99 = $2.19.  Or, I buy $L10,000.  My total charge is $40.00 + 0.99 = $40.99.
