Application Initialization Error?

I upgraded to version 2.6.2.225998 and ever since have been unable to run SL.  When I try to launch I get the following error message:"The application failed to initialize preoperly (0xc0000142). Click on OK to terminate the aplication"

Has anyone else come across this? Do you knwo what is causing it and more importantly how I can over come it? I've tried imnstalling and uninstalling several times but get the same.

Delete winmm.dll

On my computer (windows 7)  it is located : C: \ Program Files (x86) \ SecondLifeViewer2 \ llplugin \ winmm.dll

The file already exists in your system files and doesn`t need 2.

Kaylee, which viewer are you trying to install?  Is it SL or Phoenix?

If it's Phoenix, I hate to tell you this, but I am hearing soooo many complaints about that version.  People are shouting and complaining in Pheonix Support Group that is causing more problems.  Some feel they have a solution, to uninstall and reinstall, but I see you've done that already.  Since Phoenix and Second Life are different viewers, perhaps you should go to the Phoenix Viewer blogs and see if someone posted a solution. 

If it's SL, then try the Knowledge Base tab at the top.

Hi Chloe,

Kaylee did actually say which viewer it is.

This is a common problem on the latest LL viewer because for some reason they have put that duplicate file in the instal.

i have the same problem with the sl viewer2 and i didn't understand what should i do from what chloebaby said

Hi Taltoui,

If you have the same error number, the fix is to delete the winmm.dll file in your SL program plugin folder as shown in my post above.
