it is nearly impossible to make a real goodlooking skin with rl pics.

You have to paint all other parts in exact the same colorscheme, be sure all is smoothly blending and still keep details.

Most skins in sl are made with several layers for adding the dept and detail. You will only get that when using a good program.

your first result is not so bad,

It's just important to know that skin is more about 'art paint' than photography, have a look how other skins are done like this one for example: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/SHEITAN-TEMPLATES-FULL-PERMS-MALE-SKIN/6161228

Also you can make your tests with the avpainter software or on the betagrid to avoid to pay for uploading your textures.

It is possible to make a skin from a photograph of yourself.  There was a company in SL that used to do that.  Search YouTube for plenty of skin tutorials in general and how to use RL photos for the face.

For the body there are full perm skins available that you can use as a starting point to making your own.  You can Google "free second life male skin templates" to find one you like.

Skin and shape work together to create the look of a person.  From your photo and the video you posted, you need to work on your shape to get the skin looking more like the RL you.  You made a good start, but right off I think the overall shape of your head needs work and your eyes need to be closer together and your lips need a bit of tweaking.
