You can make as many accounts as you like, although theoretically you are not supposed to have more than five.  People use additional accounts (alts) for many reasons:  to manage more than one Marketplace store, to have an account dedicated to handling money, to run a scripted agent (a "bot"), to aid in testing creations like script or clothing, or just to get some privacy.

If you want to make another account with your email adress you must delete your curent account. When you make new account you can use your email adress but can use this name.

No, that's not true. You can have several SL accounts all using the same e-mail account. It can be a little confusing to separate out one account's messages from another's, if they are both getting a lot of mail, but there's no reason not to do it if you want to. I had an alt sharing my main account's e-mail for two or three years at one point.
