login failure; my clock or data settings are not right?

I see that you read my response to the same question that another resident asked yesterday, so you know what the probable solutions are.  There's not much beyond that.  The SL servers need to sync with your computer.  They do that in part by matching your computer's internal clock to their own.  If you have changed time zones, or if your computer has somehow not changed from Daylight Savings to Standard Time, or if the CMOS battery is failing, you can't log in. 

The time shown here in the forums is Pacific Standard Time, which is SLT.  If you are on the east coast of the US, that should be 3 hours earlier than your computer's clock shows.
