Can rez but not open

Help! Suddenly, while I can still rez a box OK in my  favourite Sandbox, I can't open it. When I right-click and select Open it just sits there looking sullen. There's a glittery beam connecting it to my hand, but nothing else happens.

Some boxes I can wear and open from their attached position, but not all.

The only thing that works is to use the Second LIfe viewer and open there.

I'm trying to think what I might have doen to precipitate the problem. I upgraded to 4.7.7 (48706) recently and I also deleted some temporary(?) files - can't remember why now, but, whatever, I've upset something. Everything else seems fine.

Any suggestions would be received with total gratitude.

if you see a beam you possibly try to edit it.

just right click and choose open

Some boxes open by a script the moment they are put on the ground, and that is because the seller scripted it this way. The same way with the bags and packs that you wear. You do not have to open them manually.

The old-fashioned way is to rez it on the ground, rightclick it, select "open" and then "copy to inventory".

If you are new and used to the scripted boxes, it can be confusing when you come across a box that's not scripted.

Can this be the issue here?
