Yes, you can, but you'll probably want to also wear an appropriate alpha layer to mask the parts of your classic av body that would otherwise poke through some parts of your clothing and shock the neighbors.  You'll find that most mesh clothing is distributed with an alpha layer for that purpose.  Be sure that you use the "Add" optioin, not the "Wear" option so that you don't accidentally detach one alpha layer (your feet, for example) when you attach another one.
