Hi Josie,

There technically isn't a limit to inventory size, but unfortunatly, after your inventory 100,000+ items your avatar may have some problems logging on into Second Life and may need to clear your cache to be able to log onto the grid.

Hope this helps,

Carlos Kirshner

Linden Lab has a Wiki page on this and while there is no limit as Carlos said, there can be problems.

http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/When_I_log_into_Second_Life,_it_gets_to_%22Preparing_Inventory%22_and_stops.

Clear your cache using the reset button, close the login screen and then open it again to log in or clear your cache manually by removing the Second Life folder in AppData > SecondLife > Local before logging in. Once in, you can speed inventory loading by typing common letters such as e, s, t etc in the Inventory search window one by one.

If you still have problems after the update, uninstall Second Life completely including removing the Second Life folders in AppData > Second Life > Roaming (save chat files if you wish) and AppData > Second Life > Local then download the latest version and install it. Disable automatic updates in Preferences > Setup and and complete an uninstall/reinstall when a new version is necessary to log in.
