Gimli Snoodle Posted March 7, 2011 Share Posted March 7, 2011 I am Convinced I age verified years ago .. however today when flying a plane over mainland I hit a "brick wall" and stopped due to "Lack of age verification" .. I checked on the web site and have the form to fill in (again) I am sure it used to say I am age verified some where on my profile .. Has there been a screw up some where on the databases and age verification info has been lost ? I checked my "alt" as well it also is being asked to redo age verificationI can do adult searches etc (is that because I have Payment info on file ?) Darren Scorpio Posted March 7, 2011 Share Posted March 7, 2011 Yes, having payment info on file allows you to search and view adult content, however it is not the same as being age verified. Although you can still TP to adult regions you may encounter the rare region or parcel where the landowner has selected to allow access to only age verified accounts. Unti Kamala Posted March 8, 2011 Share Posted March 8, 2011 Yes, one of the problems with the age verification system is that there's no obvious way to check whether one has been verified (which is a fancy way of saying I haven't found a way ). It may not be desirable to show others that info, although even there I think the pros are bigger than the cons, but one should be able to check whether they are considered as age verified. That'd be useful in situations like the one described here, or for those of us who visit adult sims rarely enough to be unsure of their status. Since I find age verification both stupid and revolting (because it steals identity to "lie check" people, and for a purpose as stupid as blocking some porn) I had a VERY heated discussion with LL about it, and them asking me for new ID again. At the time being, I'm legally reporting LL to authorities for identity theft, until I get an answer and age verification is finally removed. But I just checked to see and the form is blank....and it indeed looks like I need to fill it out again. Another thing is I got my best friend on SL....and she has been trying to age verify her account since she signed up yesterday. She told me they keep saying that she has put in an "invalid zip/postal code" in her case it's a postal code, she's Canadian---she's been putting in the correct information in the form and it's still coming up w/ the same results "invalid zip/postal code". U812 Posted June 29, 2011 Share Posted June 29, 2011 I just did age verification, and after entering my information, I checked the box stating my information was true, and submitted it. There was a message across the top of that form stating my age has been verified, but I am still unable to enter restricted areas. I am at this very moment standing in an Adult sim on the Adult continent. Within the past couple of days, I have been to Adult sims that I had never been to before. AND YET, I am trying to teleport to another Adult sim and I am being blocked and told that I must be age-verified in order to go there. After having my identity stolen not once, but twice by LL, last night I got a message in-world saying that I'm not verified... again. Even if I'll be blocked from entering some sims, I am not sending my ID to strangers a third time. If other SL-ers still want to put up with this and fail to see that what LL is doing is a crime, I cannot do more and no longer care. I don't want to start conspiracy theories, but I'd bet my head that LL highly enjoys this "child protection from some pixels" excuse to collect our identities and know everything about their users (hence why they reset verification every few months or years).
