Can you run a club on mainland?

Have been told that you can't run a club on the mainland, and that you can only have up to 20 avatars on your parcel, is this true?

Of course you can run a club on mainland. The only rules that you have to follow is the ToS itself and nothing else.

Just to add to Syo's answer, the maximum number of avatars is typically set to 40 on mainland, but this does vary. Some meeting areas have this set to 60 and higher.

Just to add a bit more to Syo's answer: If the limit for a mainland sim is 40 and you are packing in 20+ to your club it may impact on your neigbours in terms of performance, remember to keep them sweet and make sure to read this which is part of the TOS:

I've run several clubs on the mainland and never had any problems - as others have said, talk to your neighbours and try not to interfer with their enjoyment.

Also, remember that you can't run sex clubs on normal mainland, they have to be on adult land and you can't run gaming clubs at all (I think) on mainland after the gaming policy last year.

You can't run a club or any kind of business in one of the free Linden Homes. You can however run a business or club on the rest of the mainland. Be careful to obey the sim rating (G, M, or A).

You must have a Premium account to buy mainland, but you do not need a premium account to rent mainland or any other land from a private landlord in Second Life.
