Your question isn't clear - are you saying that the animation is No Modify or the stool (object) is No Modify? This response covers both eventualities.

If it uses MLP or Poseballs, you may (depending on permissions) modify the notecard that loads the SitTarget info.

If it uses a custom script, you may (depending on permissions) modify the script that sets the SitTarget.

  • Note that some dynamic systems might be able to save adjustments to poses via menu control.

If it uses neither, you may (depending on permissions) insert a script that better controls the SitTarget.

If you cannot do any of the above - if the whole stool is fully No Modify - you can adjust your shape to the height of the avatar that set the SitTarget. (without sizing information, you'll have to guess at this)

Otherwise you can buy a new stool, one that works or has more adjustable scripting. The creator of the one you've bought is under no obligation to make it fit to your specific avatar. Everyone's height is different, and there are plenty of non-dynamic scripts in SL.

Try demo's where provided, and good luck.

The first thing to check is to see if your own AO is turned on.  If so, it may be interfering with the sit animations in the stool.  This can happen when an AO contains animations that have a higher priority than things you connect to (like dance machines).  If that's not it, then check to see whether the instructionb card that came with the stool offers instructions about adjusting it.  Furniture that uses the AvSitter system allows that, for example.  Then, if all else fails, contact the creator again.
