Question

Hi everyone!

I am contemplating buying a small 512 plot. I know most are rectangular with the dimensions of 16x32. However, I have seen some that are oddly shaped. Is there a way I can find out the actual dimensions of these plots? When I click the about land window on the parcel I see it only states it is 512m2 but does not give the actual dimensions.

Thanks!

There are a couple things you can do.

First, turn on the property lines (Ctrl-Alt-Shift P).  That will outline the property so you can see its shape.

The smallest piece of land is 16m or  4mx4m.  Every land parcel is made up of 16m blocks.  So the property lines will always be a multiple of 4.  Knowing that helps you calculate the proper size.

Quickest way to get size is to stand on the property lines and then look at the x,y coordinates in the viewer.  So stand on one line, write down the X,Y coordinate and then go to the other side of the property and do the same.  Then subtract the lowest coordinate number from the highest.  Sometimes you might miss by 1 or 2 meters but just remember that the length has to be divisible by 4.

Hopefully that helps!
