That's very odd.  Problems like that usually mean that you have a flaky Internet connection, but there's almost no way to diagnose it from here.  Bandwidth is rarely the problem.  You can have a lovely fast connection but if it is unreliable, you can lose information and have serious synchronization issues with the Second Life servers.  It could be something as simple as a router or modem that needs resetting, or it could be a major issue with your ISP.  The thing is, Second Life is not like on-line games that basically use a static library of scenery and props.  Everything in SL updates 45 times a second and changes are fed continuously to your viewer.  If your Internet connection can't handle that flow reliably, you'll get weird performance or you'll simply crash.

That was a good guess, and one of the common causes of a connection problem. If you tried the Google DNS servers and didn't have any luck, you might try a few others to see if they are any better for you. Try these >>> http://theos.in/windows-xp/free-fast-public-dns-server-list/

Also, consider the possibility that you may have a virus. See this page for more on that >>> http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/antivirus .

hi

try reading up, click the link below

http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-Second-Life/ta-p/1375231

your download maybe missing bits

if you do try to do the reinstall

shut off your anti virus to download and once download

restart the computer

check that anti-virus is working and then reinstall.

or shut off the internet and stop the anti-virus

then reinstall, that what I would do.

restart the anti virus. and restart the computer

run a scan of the PC and once finish

log into SL

if that not clean it up

try

http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Graphics-cards/ta-p/700073#Section_.1.1

from this section you can reinstall your graphic driver.

if this not work

press control and P

that open the preferances window, click on the graphics tab

and look for the hardware button, click that

and you see little boxes

uncheck them all

click Ok and apply,

that how my PC run

you can tick each box, to check out what they do

but remember to apply be for checking your picture

hope that help

remember to always download the lastest viewer, that way you got the lastest updates,

enjoy

Your PC is definitely losing packets [of information] from the second life servers [and important status updates for the viewer] either because:

1) Your Internet connection is poor [packet loss]

2) You have installed some anti-whatever software that is doing packet state inspection and it is shedding or discarding packets of information that are destined for the Second Life Viewer.

Turn off all your anti-whatever software and please test. If SL operates normally you have your answer.
