Downgrading from premium to a basic membership

To downgrade your premium or Concierge account to basic, follow these steps:

  1. Log into the Second Life website.
  2. On the lef side of the screen, select Premium Membership.
  3. The Change Membership Plan screen opens, displaying a chart of Membership plans and prices.
  4. Select Basic Account.
  5. Click Save Changes. Your new plan becomes effective at your next billing date.

Warning: If you downgrade to a basic account, you will lose all the land you own, and you will no longer have access to your weekly Linden dollar stipend or live chat support.

Make sure to sell all your land before you downgrade!

You may also wish to check your group land contributions and make arrangements to keep your group's land holdings in good standing.

Please notice #5 above ^^  . Your Premium membership is prepaid, so will still be a Premium member until the end of your current billing period, even if you change your membership level today.  Linden Lab does not issue refunds. So, for example, if you paid for a full year's membership on January 1, 2014, you will still have all of your Premium benefits until January 1, 2015.  You will still get your weekly stipend of L$300, you can participate in Premium games and get bonus gifts, you will still be able to use Premium sandboxes and Live Chat, and you can submit support tickets under any category.

Thanks for taking your stuff out of your Linden Home.  You will also have to Abandon it.  Stand in the home and open World/Parcel Details.  Then click the Abandon button.

If you own any other land or have donated any tier to a group, you must sell or abandon that land, and take back that tier contribution, as well.
