how do i change my Profile rating from "G" to Adult ?

how do i go about changing the setting of rating for my profile fron "G" rated to Adult , i appreciate any help on this

Your profile?  Where does your profile show a maturity rating?  I don't see one on mine or anyone else's.  Maybe we're talking about something different?  Your Preferences. maybe?  Try changing your maturity preference at Preferences >>> General.  If you want to change it in Marketplace, click the drop-down menu at the center of the top of the screen.  If you want to change it in Search, click the A symbol in the upper left corner of the Search window.

For any of those, of course, you need to actually BE adult -- that is, over 18 in RL.  If you aren't, then wait.

If you mean the rating icon that appears on your profile in search, then the answer is, you can't change it, or at least not directly.

As I understand it, it's a bug in search's somewhat clunky ratings system, which reacts to  keywords in your profile that -- in the case of a store or classified advert -- would make the maturity rating M or A.   If someone's got an M or A icon on their profile, all it means is there's a keyword in there somewhere.  "Master" and "Slave" tend to kick up the rating to M or A, as I recall.  

It really doesn't mean anything, though, and strictly speaking, everyone's profile should be G-rated anyway, since everyone can see them.   I don't know how much that's enforced now, but I do remember escorts complaining at the Adult Content User Group (back when we had one) that they'd been told to tone down their profiles or risk having their accounts suspended, and not getting much sympathy from Blondin Linden (who was then the LL  liaison for Adult Content).

Oh, THAT. That's not on your profile but, as you say, in the way that Search labels your profile. Even there, I think it doesn't make any difference. Search doesn't seem to pay any attention to whether there's an A, M, or G there. It will show any profile unless a resident has unchecked the box that says "Show my profile in Search".
