It's very hard to find a skin that looks good in the buttocks and inner thighs...the avatar mesh is not very detailed in those areas and they are hard to get good shading in.

A skin can indeed look bad on a particular shape.  The skins are painted to match one shape...usually the creator's own, and if your shape is very different, the skin may look different on you.  If you are happy with your current shape, then pick up a lot of demo skins from different creators, and try them on until you find one that works with your shape.

Some creators also sell the shape that their skin is designed for along with the skin, or as an extra.  You may find that you like the look of a particular shape/skin combination enough to switch from your old shape.

Hi Myfanwy

You can try to contact the creator of the skin you got, and see if they might work with you in doing a few changes. That way you will keep your look as you want too.. Another designer can not edit the skin, so if you want to keep it, then its the creator that needs to help you... Not many skin designers do make custom, and it is often very expensive, but it never hurts to try...

Or you can look for a skin that is simular (mostly in the face) and then try the demo on, while making edits to your own shape you got (remember to only edit on a copy so you keep your present shape).. Often it can help to edit the body a bit here and there, if its a different skin...

I am (retired) custom skin designer and would have been happy to help you, but since its a skin from another designer, I wont be able to help you... So try to ask them, but also do go shopping for demos and demos and demos... suddently you find yourself with the perfect skin and shape... :)

You can add to your post by clicking in top right of the post, and click on edit.. That way you can give us more info (e.g. if you contact the designer, or might post a picture to show what those lines look like)... Depending on how bad it is, then you might be lucky to be able to make them less, by editing the shape..
