How long does it take to get a answered on abandoned land?

It can take from two hours to two weeks to get an answer about an application for abandoned land.

Your case will be considered in turn, and generally speaking, it is in Linden Lab's best interests to not have abandoned land remaining when they can be getting tier payments from it.

However, please note that if you are applying for a parcel that is likely to be interesting to other parties, Linden Lab may decide to add it to their list of auction properties, so keep an eye on the land details changing - ie being allocated an auction ID number.

LL can do three things with empty land.

1. Mark it as Abandoned - For Sale
2. Mark it as Abandoned, but put it in the queue to be auctioned
3. Mark it as Abandoned - Maintenance

If they choose 1, you can buy it at once, of course.  If it is just sitting there, you file a support ticket and ask them to sell it to you.  They may or may not agree to this.  If they don't agree, you may see it pop up on the auction block, so keep checking there daily.

If they decide to keep it as Maintenance, it's because they feel it's needed for the larger good...for example, to insure free passage along a waterway.

Or, as some have hinted darkly, they are saving it for one of the FIC (the Feted Inner Circle -- Linden alts, Linden cousins, grothers-in-law, or Good Buddies.)

In any event, all you can do is make your best case, submit your ticket, and wait.
