Is linden labs ever going to make currency cards for Second Life like imvu does?

Doubtful. There's no requirement for this, and online (worldwide) payments are considerably better, since Second Life has a population that reside, by-and-large, outside of the United States (their parent country). IMVU does have a notably US/western audience, and it's available for kids aged 13+ (who have no access to credit) - so it is more economically viable for IMVU, but not for SL. It's not practical to get physical pay cards in News Agents and Bookshops around the US, let alone the world.

Sounds more like the problem resides with you/your parents, to be honest. I don't think it's LL's responsibility to save you from such things (especially if you're 24). Kickin' loose from those shackles is part of the point of growing up. ;)

Obviously, I don't speak for LL - there's no way to get an 'official' answer using this service.
