Midian Farspire
Myself and my wife own a plot on the Pumori mainland sim. I have creating some sculpted terrain and was wondering how can i find out what texture was used of the lower/higher parts of the sim so our new sculpted terrain doesnt look out of place. Many ThanksMidian Farspire
0 PeterCanessa Oh
Oooh, what a good question! Terrain textures are RAW files and the standard LL ones used to be available in the wiki. While I wander off to see if I can find them, an alternative is to get a picture of your sim from http://maps.secondlife.com/. Just pasting the relevant part of that onto your scilpt may be all you need. ETA: Well the default RAW files are available at http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Default_Private_Region_RAW_Files but using the Region/Estate window is a lot better, since it'll access the ones that are being used, rather than the defaults. [@Rolig: duh! I didn't even know that was there]
0 Rolig Loon
I can't get in world to check right now, but I think you ought to be able to open the World >>> Estate/Region tool and see that information in the Terrain tab. You'll see a thumbnail of the texture rather than the name, but I suspect that the Mainland textures are all in the Linden Lab default set that's in your Inventory's Library >>> Textures folder. You can figure out which ones are which by comparison. You should be aware, of course, that the specific texture that is applied at any elevation is semi-random. The servers blend texture in the transition zone between assigned texture zones to make a smoothly graded appearance, and that blending adjusts periodically.
