You should have gotten a notecard with the gun explaining how to operate it.  The bullets will be in the gun most likely.  You should contact the creator to get tech support for weapons if you didn't get a note card of instructions. Content in SL is all made by residents not LL.  They provide no product tech support.

To use it you must be in an area that allows you to run scripts and to shoot weapons.

Your best bet for tech support of a product that you bought is the merchant that you bought it from.

If it's a weapon, you probably just have to go into mouselook and left-click your mouse.

as was said, besides getting tch support from the merchant where you bought it (or the creator) you will need to find a place that allows you to fire weapons. where a sim has a "no damage" policy, you will not beable to fire it. Yes, like real life, you need to go to a special place, you cant just shoot your gun off anywhere. sandpits are one place where you can fire weapons.

Not all sand boxes allow weapons.  In fact most don't.  However there are weapon testing sandboxes as well as places with shooting ranges and roleplay areas where you can shoot.
