LL refuse to use RLV on their viewers, why is beyond me. Some coding like teleport is far better than the map they use.

Edited: RLV code  is used by people  like me  that code things that have nothing to with the sub culture. Giving a broad stroke that everyone is into BDSM and things is insulting a lot of well respected coders.

Added: Peter, you know full well RLV has to be turned on in preferences and then restart the viewer. Newbies can bearly find their profile and also you have to be wearing an attachment with the perms set.

Steph,

Here is a discussion regarding what RLV is

http://community.secondlife.com/t5/General-Discussion/Help-with-understanding-RLV/td-p/1729481

Basically, Second Life and it's official viewer is an Open Access Virtual system that implements the stated Terms of Service equally for all members. Linden Research has implemented a limited number of restrictive options one avatar can impose on another avatar. These are mostly in the area of managing access to parcels and regions as well as the Block feature.

RLV is a set of specifications that are the antithesis of Open Access. RLV is a sub-culture philosophy that many embrace and they have all the tools they need to live that lifestyle at their own choosing.

This is what makes SL a desirable home for the RLV lifestyle.
