Go to the marketplace, click the right category and start your search for houses. Buy it like every other object. Be aware, that the house you buy doesn't include land. You have to rent that seperatly.

Syo's answer is the easiest one.  All it takes is L$.  I have never done that myself, though.  I have rented land, then built my own house on it (or in the sky above it).  Building your own house has the advantages that

1. It's cheap.  You already have the basic tools, and materials are free except for textures that you may want to buy (if you don't make them too).

2. You create a unique home that has a layout and style that you wanted, instead of settling for what someone else created.  Make it as wierd as you like.

3. You learn a lot about building, sharpen your skills, and have a fantastic sense of accomplishment. :smileytongue::smileyvery-happy:
