Have not logged in since 2008, my L$ are missing and avatars are missing. Any ideas?

In theory, your SL account will be there when you return, even if it's years later.  In practice, theory might not work quite right when you've been away for 5 years.  LL has upgraded software and replaced equipment many times since 2008, and LL may have archived your stuff in a dusty basement too.  The first thing I would do is contact the billing office to see about the L$ that should still be in the account.  My guess is that LL is more assiduous about money than they are about vitual inventory, so you'll have better luck recovering it.  After you do that, file a support ticket under the category Account Issues to see if they can help with the inventory issues.  Depending on how much inventory and L$ you are worried about, you might get better service if you pay for a month of Premium membership first.
