Leander Philbin Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I recently installed the newest version of the viewer (3.5.2 build 276129 released 5/17/2013). Today I got a message saying I need to install a new version, but its 3.5.1 build 274821 released 4/29/2013. What's happening??
Cerise Sorbet Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 This happens occasionally, the update servers get out of sync when they edit the versions. When I've seenthis in the past, it stopped nagging after a couple hours.
Hitomi Tiponi Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I was about to ask the same question. Viewer 3.5.2.276129 was released three days ago and is the latest viewer in the Supported Viewers List. However viewer 3.5.1.274821 is the latest viewer now being shown on the Downloads page. Sometimes there can be a few hours between the two being kept in step, but not two days. Or maybe 3.5.2 has been withdrawn for some reason. I am having no problem running either version, and get no prompt for an upgrade.

I've seen posts to the effect that new accounts can't be created using 3.5.2.Also I and apparently others have been having issues with the updated FMOD EX sound library code causing brief freezes. I've been avoiding using it because I had issues with it when it was still the beta.
Thinkerer Melville Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 There have been some problems with 3.5.2; I have been telling people how to revert to 3.5.1. I have not installed 3.5.2 myself because of the problems. My guess is that LL has decided on a general reversion to 3.5.1. I suggest that if you now have 2.5.2 installed, you may want to follow the instructions of LL and revert. And you may want to be sure that auto install is turned off: Me (Top left)-Preferences-Setup tab: (Set to download and install manually) TKR
Hitomi Tiponi Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 The thing is that 3.5.2 is still the latest viewer in the release notes, and although it has the longest list of known issues (tut, tut) that I have seen in a viewer release - being unable to create new accounts is not one of them.

There was a serious bug in 3.5.2 as Rolig explains here http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Viewers/why-the-viewer-3-5-2-276129-has-been-removed/qaq-p/2020795/comment-id/6513#M6513
