Role playing

Hi. I was reading through some of the questions and answers here in the forum. In one particular answer someone advised to "Learn how to role play". Before SecondLife I've had almost no interaction with other people online and I have no clue how to role play. Is there a way to learn how as this person suggests?

RP is simply acting.  It has been around since the dawn of time. I bet the little cave kids pretended to be ferocious beasts with each other. You are playing a role, like D&D, or when you were a kid and played Barbies, or GI Joe, or lets pretend. The easiest way to learn to RP is to find a busy RP sim (good luck with that) and ask if you can join. Tell them what your experience level is and ask for help.
