Tondy Treves
I have a 1024 sqm parcel that I can't pay rent on. I also can't seem to find a buyer. Are there consequences to abandoning land?
0 Ansariel Hiller
How to abandon land Open the World menu and select About Land. The About Land window opens. In the General tab of the About Land window, click Abandon Land. You should also make sure that you update your land tier so you won't be charged in the future: https://secondlife.com/my/account/landfees.php
0 Rolig Loon
To abandon land, stand in the parcel, click About Land, and click the Abandon Land button. To be sure that you also reduce your land fee payments, go to the Land Manager page on your dashboard at secondlife.com and reduce your tier to the new level. You will still be liable for paying land fees on the maximum amount of land that you owned during the current billing period, even if you only owned it for a second. Assuming that you have done that, the only "consequence" is that you no longer have the land. If you forgot to pick up your stuff before you left, it might be returned to you in a lump by the next owner, which would be a pain.
