How can I keep my avatar from running?

Hello, I recently got a job as a waiter. My AO looks awesome! However i have a habit of double-clicking the "w" to run which makes my avatar do flips in the air. I don't want to distract my customers with my amazing flippng skills...(heheheheh :smileylol:) so is there a button i can press to temporarily keep my avatar from running while I work and once I'm done I can switch it back to normal? Thank you!

I'm not sure is there is any such button, someone else may be able to offer a quick fix but for the time being, my suggetion would be to edit your AO.

 

Delete the current run animation and replace it with something that doesn't do the flips, (perhaps replace it with another walk).  You can do this (on most animation overrides) by detaching the hud, rezzing it on the ground/platform and configuring the notecard/animations via edit mode.

In Firestorm (maybe other viewers too) look in Prefs--> Move and View--> Movement. There's a tickbox for "tap-tap-hold to run". Uncheck it, and you should only run when you want to. CTRL-R will still toggle 'always run'.

To walk a little slower than usual press the space bar while you walk.

 

Lady Alisha's dresses have a menu which can make you walk at different speeds,

but I'm unsure if she makes men's clothing as well.
