im trying to figure out how to obtain land with out renting it from someone, i have 4608sqm for my cap and i don't want to pay the 25 bucks for the land fees and another 10-15 for renting land from a resident, how do i go about this?

Buy mainland.  But anything over 512 sq. meters will entail land use fees.  There ain't no way around it.

I'm confused. You shouldn't have to pay a double fee. If you rent land from another resident, you pay a one-time purchase fee -  not usually all that terribly expensive, basically a downpayment - then you pay the rent fee. Usually, they tell you the weekly amount; I always paid by the month, so I multiplied my weekly amount by 4 and paid it all at once. The initial "land fee" certainly shouldn't be $25!

You can buy mainland. Get a Premium account - $9.95 per month, or you can pay a larger sum for longer, which is more cost effective. Your first 512 sqm is free. After that, land fees increase, so you'll have to pay attention to the chart. Owning 1024sqm would be $5 a month, for instance. USD. (The chart is a little hard to understand. It says that 512sqm is $5USD, but that's really only true if you have a Linden home. In essence, an ADDITIONAL 512sqm is $5. So you really can have 1024sqm for $5USD per month. Because the first 512 is free.)

You have 2 options or you buy the land and pay the monthly tier to ll or you can rent and pay lindens the the land´s owner.

i sugest not waste "much" money on virtual things, cause in the end, we always lost here and there!!
