I don't believe you can "upgrade" Snowglobe.

be sure to do

1) an uninstall of Snowglobe

2) A clean install of the official SL viewer.

Make sure to also remove any old SG system folders as well. This will need to be done manually

P.S. To answer you other question - Yes it is better BUT , and there is always a BUT you need to understand

1) Your PC needs to be current and up to date

2) Have a modern Graphics Card/System

3) and you need to know there will be a learning curve for you on it's use.!
