Is there a way to hide the waving arm and beam when right clicking an object?

I know in Firestorm beams can be turned on/off in preferences>firestorm>avatar.

I am not sure with the SL viewer, but if you dig through your preferences you will find the object to turn off your beam.

I can't get in to test it (SL seems to be having issues) but try Me>Preferences>Move&View and uncheck Automatic Position for Build/Edit.

Check for avatar options about pointing at objects.  That said, it's probably best to leave it on, as it gives a body language cue to others that you're building and it's probably not best to interrupt.

I am now seeing this post and not sure if you got it fixed, please go to the "build" menu up top, then to options, then uncheck "Show selection beam".

 

Hope that helps, if you already got it, hopefully this post will help someone else..
