0 Rolig Loon
That's a good question. Have you created an exception for your viewer in your firewall and anti-virus programs? If not, either one of them could be blocking login. For information about handling your firewall, read >>> http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Using-Second-Life-with-a-firewall/ta-p/1304539 . For working with yur anti-virus program, look at >>> http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/antivirus_whitelisting
0 Gregg Torgeson
Thanks Rolig,. . . I looked at those references, but it didn't seem to be the root of my problem-- everything works fine except getting in to my "home" positon. and after i am logged in for a bit at another location --then i can get to Home without that error showing up-- I'm wondering if its something on my home sim. 0 Rolig Loon
That's a good possibility. When was the last time you restarted the sim? Is anyone else having a similar problem on the same sim? If you can collect good data, it may be smart to file a support ticket (or call Live Chat if you are a Premium member) and ask a LL tech person to check the sim's servers. 0 Gregg Torgeson
The sim was restarted yesterday. No one else of the 6 of us is having this problem. I guess the next step is Live Chat. Thanks !!
0 Rolig Loon
Good luck. Unfortunately, if you are the only one having a problem it seems less likely that the sim is the problem. You my want to consider doing a clean re-install of your viewer, on the theory that some of your AppData files have been damaged somehow. See http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_clean_reinstall . I know it sounds like I am shooting in the dark here. I am, because this particular set of symptoms doesn't suggest a clean solution.
