What you can do

 

You can:

 

• Decorate your home with furniture or other items from Second Life Marketplace.
• Your partner or friends can help you decorate as well. Linden Home parcels work just like any other parcel of land in that regard; who can rez objects on your land depends on the About Land settings.  See Managing land for more information.
• Customize textures used in your Linden Home via the control panel.  See Using the control panel.

You can set the land to allow "anyone" to rez objects.  You do not have to do this to allow your visitors to WEAR their attachments.  However, I do not recommend rezzing attachments in a Linden Home...many avatar attachments exceed the 117 prim allowance and could give someone trying to rez them in world (not worn) an error message (at best) or get lost (at worst).

Worn attachments, fortunately, do not count against a parcel's prim limits.

EDIT:  Nyll's suggestion to NOT set the land to allow anyone to rez is a good one, although it will cost you $L100 to create a group.  However, I believe her admonition that open rezzing be permitted "under no circumstances" is too cautious.  It's safe to open the land to guests for a short period, as long as you don't LEAVE it set like that.  If you do, anyone can come by and dump junk on, in, or above your home.

You create a Group and then add anyone as members that you wish to give permission to rez objects in your Linden Home. Will cost you 100L to create a group. Under no circumstance set About Land to allow anyone rez objects there.

You can also set the About Land Access to Group only to prevent unauthorised access to your home.
