I have lost inventory thru a transfer that the other person did not recieve. I have the transaction number. but she was not on line. is there a solution to this? can the item  be tracked or located?

You can :

a. ask the seller to replace explaining the issue POLITELY but since this was a transfer item, many sellers will not replace.

 

b. you could put in a support ticket but again, very unlikely it will get fixed.

 

The best plan is to learn from your mistake (these things happen) and next time you want to gift someone do it through the Marketplace where you CAN get support for things not coming in. Or, you can always take your friend shopping, let them buy the item and then give them the money. That is how we did it in ancient days.

 

Most likely your item is simply gone. Sorry.

 

Also if you have "proof" that the transaction happened, make sure that she / he are just not missing it. If you know the exact name, give them that info so that they can search well.

It's not a good idea to transfer things to anyone who is not on line, unless you have a spare copy.   We each have an "in box" that holds IMs, notecards, group notices, group invitations, and anything that is delivered to us if we aren't in world at the time (or if we are in world by in "busy" status). That "in box" can only hold 25 things, total. If anything else comes in, it isn't saved. It is gone ... poof .... forever. If you have a mess of things delivered from Marketplace and half your friends send you notecards and other transfer items, that in box will be capped and you will never know what happened.
