Sorry, if this has been asked before, I searched and did't find anything.

I make educational machinima that I use at work to train employees. The staff love these videos, but I find that folks get distracted, at times, by the herky jerky movement of the avatars. This is not about frame rate, but abot the talk animations in SL.

Does anyone know of a tool or something to improve this? I am willing to spend Lindens to improve this distraction. Thanks in advance. drfran

Hi DrFran,

If you are talking about the typing in the air animation, that one can easily be switched off:

Go to preferences (CTRL P) - Chat - and uncheck "playing typing animation" (I'm on a german language version of the viewer so I don't know the exact wording ;-)

Now the avatars won't type anymore while talking

If you're looking for better animations to replace the standard typing, a number of shops sell those animations which are to be put into an animation overrider. Each of your avatars would need one with the appropriate animation(s) loaded.

I hope that helps a bit - have fun doing machinima ;-)

If you are talking about the lip sync animations when using voice. Maybe you need to adjust the lipsync ooohhhahh timing . In debug settings.

To get to the debug window go to Advanced/Show Debug settings (ctrl-alt-D to show advanced menu on top of viewer)

type LipSyncOohAahRate in the box and adjust that time  to a faster rate maybe.. there are a few other lipsync settings you may be able to tweak to get what you are looking for.. Just type lipsync in the box
