How do I put an item into a box so I can send it to someone else?

Hi, I have read thru the SL Marketplace and selling stuff and can't figure out how to put an item I built into a box and send it.  This is for a group give-away, I'm not making any money with it.  Please help?  Thanks!

You can choose either of two methods.

1. Create the box and then, while you have it selected with your build/edit tool, open the Contents tab. Then drag your item from your inventory and drop it into Contents and close the editor.  OR .....

2.  Open your inventory and hold down the CTRL key on your key board.  Then drag the item from your inventory while you still have the CTRL key held down, and drop it onto your box.

Either method will deposit the item in your box.  Then you can take the box to your inventory and either drag and drop it on someone else to give them a copy, or drag/drop it into an IM while you are in conversation with them.

If it's only one item, you don't actually need to put it in a box at all.  Just drag it from your inventory and drop it on the avatar you want to give it to, or on their profile picture.  Unless it is a No Copy item, a copy will remain in your inventory to give to the next person on your list.

You can also drop the item into the attachment spot in a group notice window.  Everyone will then be able to get a copy.
