Ongoe Allen
I would like to know if there are a way to change some values of the sliders of shape editor by a item wearable, that only change these values, no affecting to the others. Is in the same way as we can wear "Base of shoes" that these values change the shape only in the values of feet.By example: I need for a item that a customer select between various sizes of items: XXS,XS,S,M,L,XL,XXL,XXXL,i only need to match 2 values at the shape editor of customers: Body Fat and Torso Muscles,(by example)then I think in a "PARTIAL SHAPE CHANGER" as a base shoes, a item for modify your shape without headaches.I would like to know if is possible that Seconlife can apply this as a new feature. Lewis Luminos
There is no way for a script or object to change a user's body shape. The only way to change a shape is by what you call the "headache" way - editing it using the sliders - but the headaches can be reduced by saving a copy of the new shape and maybe keeping that copy (or a link to it) in the folder with the mesh clothing that fits it. Ongoe Allen
Thanks by the info Lewis Luminos, but not, the question is not that. Is not for my own use. I am creator of feet and sell with standards sizes, these feet need 3 values of shape to be matched. Some customers have experience editing shapes, but other people not. Also the problem with the languages in the viewer, some people dont have the editor shape in english, then is very difficult to set these values without help, or as I say "with headaches". My intention is to make the life in Secondlife more easy and happy for customers. Technically only Linden Labs can make the solution that I say. And really the solution technical is there, in the same way as we know "wear a base for shoes", that are some values of sliders applied partially to the shape. Can be a file in text format with the only needed values that we put on some "new button" in the editor of shape, and making a new item wearable that set theses values when weared. It is a idea for Linden Labs if like it, I think need programming, but a bit only. The idea seems simple, but we can reflection about all advantages that we, the creators, in SL can get. It is a workaround to the problems of fitting mesh. Can coexist with fitting mesh, and too in some ways not to be the need to fitted mesh. Every creator could create various sizes of theirs creations and various "partial shape changer" (items). The customer wear a pair of feet of size S and wear the "partial shape changer S". Dresden Ceriano
So, what you're suggesting is that LL develop an entirely new type of asset that can be worn, much like that of avatar physics, which would make it possible to change only the shape settings set forth by the creator of said asset; thereby eliminating the need to modify and save that avatar's shape itself... right? If I'm understanding this correctly, I have to say that it's honestly a pretty good idea. I know I'd love to be able to slightly modify my shape for certain clothing items without having to save a new shape for each one of them... especially since, far too often, I forget to switch back to my original shape once I take off the item. I suggest you go to the JIRA and file a feature request for it. ...Dres
Ongoe Allen
Thank you by the sugestion Dresden, and yes, you have understand the idea, :-) I have submit the request of new feature at JIRA, https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-7658? The idea of it is really new, and I think that the creators can create in a new way with accuracy. I am reflecting that the Partial Shape Changer can be a "humble" solution vs fitting mesh vs deformer. I sell feet with 8 sizes, from Body Fat 0 to 100, including into the 5 standards of size.In this way a creator can get perfect positioned their creations on the avatars without problems, withouts gaps. All creators know that fitted mesh are unaccurate and they need to made various sizes as time ago before fitted mesh. In the other side the users: There are much people that want wear meshes and be happy as wear clothing at RL. In this way, a user can find the sizes paired with the "Partial Shape Changer", wear the 2 items more appropriate and that´s all. They can be happy and dont fight with the editor of shape. Ohjiro Watanabe
Good idea Ongoe, I voted for your jira. Maybe this would be a way improve mesh fitting so that you don't need an alpha layer. If you can do it for feet why not torso.
Ongoe Allen
Thank you by your vote Ohjiro Watanabe, I hope much more people vote this JIRA, creators and users, because all us can get the bonus if Linden Labs can add this feature. I think this method can cohexist with fitted mesh or without it, in perfect harmony. Ongoe Allen
