Rolig Loon
The ambient light in Second Life comes from everywhere, and it penetrates inside everywhere. You can't shut it off.
Perrie Juran
What Rolig said is true. And there is really no way around that. Another problem that I've seen in some homes is the creator applying "glow" to walls. So if everything looks bright even though it is night, if your house is Mod, check and see if glow has been applied. I've had to set a few houses to 'zero.' ETA, you may need to choose "select face" to see if "glow" has been applied. It is possible to apply "glow" to just one side (face) of a prim.
Amethyst Jetaime
Once you are sure full bright and glow is off, if you are able, activate advanced lighting with shadows in your graphics settings. It will help as the light coming into the house will be through the windows and areas where the light doesn't reflect will be darker.
Dora Gustafson
I agree! There is a way around the ambient light Turn on shadows and the inside of the house will be shaded by walls and roof (unless the outside is made transparent) :smileysurprised::smileyvery-happy: Actually the light in SL is only ambient if you turn down sunlight and moonlight in the windlight settings Otherwise objects are highlighted on surfaces facing the sun (moon)
